On-Site Service
We are one of the few machine shops that travel on-site to get you out of a tough spot!
This is not the bulk of our business, but when you're in trouble we want to consult, discuss, troubleshoot, and come up with a plan. Some examples:
- Assessment of damaged farm and tractor machinery. Either because it is broken down in the field, or because you have concerns about disassembling before having a plan. A recent example is a BearCat 1101 Mixer-Grinder for agricultural animal feed production - the input pin clutch casting failed catastrophically, we went on-site to assess the design, damage, repair considerations, and affect a clean repair. Once the damaged casting was inspected, milled down, crack-tested at our shop, we came up with a repair plan to manufacture and install a keyed repair sleeve. Once repair was done and the paint was dry, we traveled back on-site to ensure proper installation, fitment, and success of the repair.
- Standby power generator broken bolt repair - A standby power maintenance company called us due to a weak self-doweling fastener failed due to a known weak design between the knurling and threads. Due to the doweling nature of the fastener, the fastener broke nearly 1/2" below the surface of the LSI engine block. Attempts had been made prior to our engagement to drill the bolt out, unsucessfully due to the tight space constraints. Between the critical doweling geometry and the asymmetry caused by the drilling attempt, industry-standard wire coil (Helicoil and similar) or insert (Timesert and similar) repairs were not viable. We were engaged and came on-site to assess the equipment, plan and discuss, then execute a plan -- consisting of manufacture of a custom [over-sized OD] repair insert at our shop that re-established the OEM dowel and thread geometry.
- Agricultural equipment trailer repair -- A customer was searching for a solution to repair an equipment trailer for sale/auction. The trailer had been backed over an obstruction in its history, folding the jack backwards. We came on-site, assessed the trailer, and executed repairs to extract, straighten, and re-install the jack with on-site welding. We are not a mobile fabricator, but can be a good fit for agricultural and similar repairs, especially if other or more-precise/surgical options are available beyond strictly fabrication.
- Repair of broken small engine carburator internals, such as Nikki and Mikuni carburators. See details here
